The most popular option is the 4-Day Classic Escarpment Route, which gives you the perfect balance of highlights, wildlife, and scenery:- Day 1: Debark to Sankaber – A gentle introduction hike along the ridge line where you will likely spot your first family of Gelada monkeys.
- Day 2: Sankaber to Geech – You will cross a deep valley to view the stunning Jinbar Waterfall, which plunges over 500 meters into a massive abyss.
- Day 3: Geech to Chennek via Imet Gogo – This is the most scenic day. You will stand at Imet Gogo (3,926m) for a 360-degree view of the jagged peaks before hiking to Chennek, a prime spot to see the Walia Ibex.
